Executive Summary

Cymphony has emerged from stealth with $30 million in funding to address security risks posed by autonomous AI agents. The startup's platform provides a workforce graph to monitor access and data interactions for both human and non-human identities.

As AI agents gain access to sensitive corporate data and systems while operating at machine speed, enterprises are facing unprecedented security risks. Sequoia Capital is betting on this shift by backing Cymphony, a startup that has emerged with $30 million in funding to help companies manage their growing AI workforce. The funding includes a $25 million Series A co-led by Sequoia and SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund, valuing the New York- and Tel Aviv-based startup at more than $100 million. This follows a previously undisclosed seed investment from Sequoia. Unlike human employees, AI agents often bypass traditional identity controls despite having access to multiple systems and vast amounts of corporate data, making it difficult for enterprises to track permissions. Cymphony addresses this gap through a platform centered on a "workforce graph." This technology integrates identity, data, and activity signals to give security teams a single view of employees, AI agents, and other non-human identities. CEO Shy Dekel noted that enterprise security was originally designed for humans, but independent non-human entities are now practically joining the workforce. The startup is already identifying significant risks in the field. At one U.S. public company, Cymphony discovered approximately 85,000 files that had become accessible to AI tools and agents. The company helped mitigate the exposure and verified that no unauthorized access had occurred through those AI systems.
