Rabbit Launches Standalone AI Agent OS3, Expanding Beyond R1 Hardware

Rabbit, the company behind the much-discussed R1 device, is making a significant pivot by rolling out a standalone AI agent that no longer requires its dedicated hardware. This new offering, dubbed OS3, marks a strategic shift, allowing users to access Rabbit's "agentic operating system" across a broader ecosystem. As reported by Wired, OS3 operates primarily in the cloud but executes tasks locally on Windows, Mac, and Linux devices. This cross-platform compatibility is a key differentiator, enabling users to integrate the AI agent into their existing computing environments. Each account can support up to five devices and incorporate preferred AI models, giving users flexibility and control over their AI interactions. A core feature of OS3 is its intelligent task management. The system is designed to automatically identify and leverage the appropriate devices, files, applications, and AI models required to efficiently complete a given task. This aims to streamline workflows and enhance productivity by minimizing manual intervention. Accessibility is also a priority for Rabbit. Users can interact with OS3 through a dedicated desktop website, via paired messaging applications such as Telegram or iMessage, and, for existing owners, through the R1 device itself. This multi-channel approach ensures that the AI agent is available wherever and whenever users need it.
