Google Photos AI-Powered Virtual Closet Feature Expands to Android and iOS

Google has rolled out its AI-powered virtual closet feature in Google Photos to all Android and iOS users across the United States, Brazil, and India. Inspired by the digital wardrobe concept from the movie "Clueless," the feature uses artificial intelligence to scan photos of outfits and catalog a digital copy of the user's clothing items. Users can filter items by categories such as tops, bottoms, and jewelry, and combine them to create different outfit variations directly within the app. Google clarified that user clothing data is not shared with third parties or retailers. The feature's full rollout coincides with additional Google Photos updates, including a single-prompt photo selection and adjustment tool via Gemini Spark (available with Google AI Pro or Ultra subscriptions in the U.S.), updated Markup options with a redacting pen and custom text fonts, and new "Moods" photo filters for Android users.
